Club retailer DirectBuy announced that Curt Fisher has been named VP of sales, taking responsibility for the direction and management of internal sales development, building new sales channels and expanding the company's marketplace reach.
Fisher has 20 years of experience in customer relationship management with Fortune 500 companies. Over the last three years, he has served as Goodman Manufacturing's Chicago-area general manager, where he built and managed a startup distribution operation that showed 30 percent growth each year. He also filled several leadership roles with Whirlpool from 2000 to 2011 managing sales, marketing, competitive marketplace insights and merchandising, as well as a five-year stint as Maytag's district sales manager.
"Curt is a proven leader in sales growth techniques," said CMO Curt Hilliard. "We are confident his reputation of results-driven performance will allow him to adapt quickly in this role and deliver impactful business results during this critical transition period for our company."
In his new role, Fisher will be part of a leadership team Hilliard and CEO Mike Bornhorst set up in February 2014. That team will work to execute new standards and policies intended to build out the brand, adopt more transparent business practices and make the company generally easier to work with.
"There is no better time to join DirectBuy given its exciting new marketplace approach that is currently unfolding," Fisher said. "I look forward to heightening the sales functions of the organization to acquire an even larger consumer base that is continually inspired by the company's lifestyle-enhancing benefits."
