DirectBuy adds savings guarantee

DirectBuy is backing up its low price promise with a new savings guarantee program that matches prices and provides further discounts when a verified lower price is found.

Shoppers who find a lower price within 30 days of purchase can alert DirectBuy and an additional discount will be applied to meet the retailer's minimum guaranteed savings percentage for that product category.

DirectBuy then issues a refund check or merchandise credit.

"Retailers always talk savings, but we feel it is our responsibility to guarantee them since they are the cornerstone of our unique offering," said Mike Bornhorst, CEO of DirectBuy. "We have dedicated significant resources to provide shoppers new levels of savings and service, and we are excited to take another leap in improving our member experience."

The Merrillville, Indiana–based buyers club is in the midst of a multiyear makeover of its member experience, and the savings guarantee is just one component. DirectBuy recently relaunched its e-commerce platform and mobile app with a visual search feature that matches products with identical or similar ones carried by the retailer.
