Design Within Reach to return to Philadelphia

Design Within Reach (DWR) announced plans to open a new store in Philadelphia as part of the city's East Market development.

East Market is a pedestrian-oriented development encompassing an entire city block. The DWR store will be across from The Design Center and MOM's Organic Market, expected to open later this year.

The 15,000-sq.-ft. studio is scheduled to open in 2017.

DWR closed a nearby location in 2010 and this new store marks its return to the Philadelphia market.

"We are thrilled to be coming back to this vibrant development in the Philadelphia market," said Design Within Reach President John McPhee. "Our new studio will be five times the size of our former location and will truly offer the best in modern design."

Office furniture company Herman Miller acquired DWR for $154 million in July 2014.
