Deloitte names new vice chairman of retail

Deloitte appointed Rod Sides as vice chairman and leader of the retail and distribution practice in the United States, effective immediately. He will succeed Alison Paul, who will continue to serve global retail clients at Deloitte.

Sides has been a principal in Deloitte Consulting for more than 26 years, with experience in store operations, supply chain, procurement, back-office operations and information technology.

"Under his leadership, our retail and distribution practice is positioned to continue to create value for our clients, as well as be a catalyst for innovation."

In his new role, Sides will lead the retail and distribution practice, including 2,400 professionals that represent 75 percent of the Fortune 500 retail and distribution companies. He is tasked with driving sector initiatives, original research, talent development and other strategies to guide retailers to compete globally, improve performance and increase profitability.
