Deliv acquires delivery startup WeDeliver

Same-day delivery company Deliv has acquired WeDeliver, a Chicago-based delivery service that does same-day delivery for local retailers. The acquisition marks an expansion of Deliv's place in the national, same-day delivery space.

Deliv currently assists in same-day delivery for more than 250 national retailers including Macy's (NYSE:M) Bloomingdale's, Williams-Sonoma (NYSE:WSM) and Foot Locker (NYSE:FL), to name a few. It also partners with six of the largest mall operators in the country. The company has grown 800 percent in volume from January to June, compared to the same period in 2014.

WeDeliver launched in Chicago in 2013 and services more than 200 retailers. It has partnered with a number of local brands including Trunk Club, Barneys New York and grocery stores such as Plum Market.

"We are impressed with Deliv's strategy and leadership position across the nation's top retailers," said Jimmy Odom, founder and CEO of WeDeliver. "During a time when same-day delivery has quickly become the new customer standard, we're excited to continue our journey and partner with such an exciting and fun team."

Deliv currently operates in eight markets including Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Northern New Jersey, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C. and San Jose, California.
