Chutes & Ladders: American Apparel suspends CEO, Family Dollar names new SVP

Dov Charney has been suspended by American Apparel's board of directors and has been notified of its intent to terminate his employement as president and CEO. His termination is expected to take effect after a 30-day cure period in his employment agreement. Press release

 

 

 

 

 

Jeffrey Thomas was named senior VP - merchandise operations at Family Dollar. He joined Family Dollar in 2003 as a director of vendor performance and was most recently VP - merchant services. He replaces Scott Zucker, who left the company in May. Press release

> Roy Chan has been named as Kate Spade & Co.'s senior VP of international, a new position at the company. Chan was most recently president of international at Jones Group, and will be responsible for strategic oversight and international expansion. Press release

> Scott Davis is joining Johnson & Johnson's board of directors. Davis is CEO and chairman at UPS and will serve on the Audit Committe and the Regulatory, Compliance and Government Affairs Committee on the board. Press release
