Chico's FAS has named Diane Ellis as president of the Chico's brand, effective Nov. 1.

Ellis will oversee all business activities for Chico's and will report directly to Shelley Broader, president and CEO of Chico's FAS.

"Diane is a seasoned leader who has proven time and again that she is one of the most strategic business and brand builders in retail. She brings merchandising, marketing and operational expertise as well as a strong passion for our customers," said Broader. "As we continue to position our company to win in the future, I am proud to welcome Diane to Chico's."

Ellis joins Chico's from The Limited, where she served as CEO and helped drive that company's recent business transformation

Prior to The Limited, Ellis was president and COO of Brooks Brothers, where she led the stores, e-commerce, IT, HR, sourcing, product development, finance, supply chain and planning functions in support of the global operations of the brand.

Chico's has been working on a transformation of its own and recently identified four key areas of focus for each banner: evolving the customer experience, strengthening the position of each brand, leveraging actionable retail science and sharpening financial principles.

Chico's FAS operates Chico's, White House Black Market and Soma stores.
