Chico's FAS (NYSE:CHS) will now be able to transact with shoppers in more than 100 countries and across more than 60 global currencies.
Chico's has partnered with Borderfree, a developer of international e-commerce solutions, to expand its e-commerce capabilities to four of its online properties: White House Black Market, Soma, Boston Proper and the Chico brand. The company currently has physical stores in the U.S. and Canada.

The new platform will make Chico's products available to about 2 billion global consumers. The platform will also allow the retailer to leverage consumer insights, local market intelligence, international marketing strategies and promotional campaigns with third-party partners.

Earlier this year, Chico's announced it would reduce the number of store openings from between 120 and 130 to 107 in fiscal 2014. However, that has not slowed the company's push for global expansion, including the opening of several stores in Canada beginning this fall.
