Canada struggling to fill vacant retail properties since Target's exit

Since Target closed all of its Canadian stores and many retailers continue to downsize as e-commerce grows, landlords in Canada are left with a lot of space to fill. An estimated 21 million sq. ft. of retail space will be vacant this year, almost three times the normal amount of retail space that becomes vacant annually. Property owners are racing to find tenants or redesign empty space in order to compete in the fast-changing market of rising digital sales. Story
