PRESS RELEASE

NAPLES, Fla. -- Retail and consumer products industry veterans Vince Burke, Jim Gillis and Rich Juliano today announced the founding of the Burke • Gillis • Juliano Group, a global consultancy focused on the supermarket, mass retail, convenience, drug and specialty retail trade channels. Burke • Gillis • Juliano Group offers executive management, market strategy, mergers & acquisitions, private equity, business development, product marketing, trade relations and related services to leading retailers, suppliers and vendors in the United States and around the world.

At the core of the new company are partners with senior retail and supply leadership experience -- Vince Burke comes from Hallmark Cards and Rich Juliano worked at SUPERVALU, Genuardis Family Markets and Giant Eagle. Tying the group together is Jim Gillis, who has broad consulting, P/L management, private equity and both public and private board experience.

"Burke • Gillis • Juliano Group features retail and supplier executives who are at the top of their game -- Vince connects at all levels of retail bringing with him expertise in DSD, store merchandising, distribution, contacts, and trade relations. Rich on the other hand has been on the other side of the desk working through the "deal", SBT, inventory control, general merchandise, IT, private label, vitamins, drugs, in other words, all sides of retail," said Gillis.

"By combining our backgrounds servicing both retailers and suppliers, and integrating our close relationship with private equity firms, we are creating synergies that deliver the insights and innovations needed to transform our client's business for the better. We are updating the best practices from my tenure at Aders, Wilcox, Gillis Group and Gillis & Associates to collaborate with retailers and suppliers, and deliver results that increase their market share and brand value."

Vince Burke has more than 34 years of experience in the mass and specialty retail industry, developing relationships with the leadership teams at many of the most respected companies in the country. Most recently, Burke served as Vice President, Strategic Relationships and Business Development for Hallmark Cards, the world's leading social expression company, where he was responsible for initiating, developing, and maintaining strategic relationships with the highest level of leadership at retailers, key licensors, CPG companies, industry trade groups and within the Hallmark family of companies. Also, Burke has been a very active member of the GMDC leadership team.

"The Burke • Gillis • Juliano Group is drawing on decades of experience, contacts and market understanding to provide our clients with the best advice to meet their short-, medium- and long-term goals. Jim, Rich and I are personally involved with each engagement, virtually guaranteeing success," said Burke.

James Gillis is President and CEO of Gillis & Associates, where his clients include TNG/Division of The Jim Pattison Group, Globalworx, Hudson News Retail, Rubicon Global, Synergy Systems and Park City Group. He also sits on several corporate boards and works with private equity firms. Gillis retired as President, Chief Operating Officer and Co-CEO of Source Interlink Companies, a premier marketing, merchandising and fulfillment company of entertainment products, where revenues increased from $38 million to $2.5 billion during his tenure. He was previously President, CEO and Owner of Brand Manufacturing Corporation, a leading designer and manufacturer of retail display systems and was Managing Partner of Aders, Wilcox, Gillis Group, a global developer of trade relationships serving major brand marketers and retailers worldwide.

"Vince, Jim and I all know retail and CPG inside and out – we've been students of the industries for decades. We are now bringing that knowledge and connection base to select clients to help them profitably grow their businesses," said Juliano.

Rich Juliano began his career with Giant Eagle Super Markets, becoming the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the GM/HBC Division and then Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing of the Phar-Mor Division.
