Bluemercury growing and rejuvenating Macy's cosmetics

In February Macy's paid $200 million to acquire the cosmetics brand Bluemercury, a chain of upscale beauty shops and spas that started in Washington, D.C. Though department stores traditionally have a long line of success in the cosmetics industry, Macy's recent acquisition will put it more in touch with the fast-changing face of beauty brands and help market the department store to a younger female demographic.
