At Home names former PetSmart CEO Phil Francis to board

At Home, a chain of home decor superstores, has named Phil Francis, former CEO and chairman of PetSmart, as an independent member of its board of directors.

"We are pleased to welcome someone with Phil's background and expertise to our board," said Lee Bird, CEO of At Home, in a statement.  "As we continue to extend the reach of the At Home brand and look to execute against the growth opportunities ahead, we look forward to benefiting from his extensive knowledge of the retail landscape and deep leadership experience."

Francis has 35 years of experience in management positions at retail and wholesale companies. He was most recently with PetSmart for 15 years in several senior leadership roles, including chairman, CEO and president. As CEO, he contributed to the chain's growth from 460 stores to 1,200. Before PetSmart, Francis acted as CEO and president at Shaw's Supermarkets. He also held senior management positions at Roundy's, Cardinal Foods and Jewel Companies. Press release
