Half of American Apparel's stores are located in the United States.

American Apparel has shuttered 12 of its 13 U.K. stores, with the last store set to close in January. In November, the U.K. arm of the company was placed into administration just before the parent company sold the brand to Gildan. The deal includes all assets of the brand, but Gildan did not want any of American Apparel's 230 stores, half of which are located in the United States. (The Industry)
