American Apparel to refashion its image

American Apparel's leadership team is looking to overhaul the company's attitutde and operations. After months of financial and brand image woes, the retailer filed a plan with the Securities and Exchange Commission outlining where its stores should be located, who they will be targeting and how. In another filing, American Apparel said it will form an advisory committee to help guide new CEO Paula Schneider, who took the helm in January after founder Dov Charney was fired. In addition, the company will drop its overtly sexual advertising, which it believes has become "offensive to many." Story
