Amazon's Reviewers And Fine Art—The Perfect Match

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has launched a new portal called Amazon Art to sell fine art from more than 150 U.S. galleries and dealers and 4,500 artists. But the online giant reportedly had trouble getting galleries on board amid concerns that Amazon could offer an appropriately tasteful presentation for fine art. (Keep in mind that Costco (NASDAQ:COST) already sells art prints online with prices up to $6,000.) Fortunately, Amazon's army of online reviewers has stepped up to class the joint up. Among the comments on a $1.45 million Monet painting: "For as much as I paid I'm a little upset that this isn't a new painting. You can see OBVIOUS cracks and I'm worried that the artwork has had several owners before me." Story
