Amazon gets head start on Cyber Monday

Black Friday isn't the only shopping day getting an early start—Amazon will begin offering Cyber Monday deals on Saturday as the online retailer gets a jump on the biggest online shopping day of the year.

Amazon will kick off deals on Saturday Nov. 29, and will add new deals as often as every 10 minutes.

The promotion schedule is part of Amazon's eight days of savings that will include deals of the day on Cyber Monday itself.

Also new this year, Amazon is offering shoppers exclusive Lightning Deals on Cyber Monday via its mobile app. These deals will run throughout the day on Cyber Monday, available on the Amazon app for Android, iOS and Fire OS.

Cyber Monday shoppers will leverage mobile more this year than last, with 40 percent of all retail transactions from Black Friday to Cyber Monday expected to come from smartphones and tablets, according to Iovation.
