Albertsons accredited to dispense special meds

Albertsons now has more adaptability to offer more affordable and accessible specialty care services.

Albertsons became the largest food and drug chain to receive accreditation status approval from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care for its specialty care services. The distinction means that Albertsons has more adaptability to issue a higher level of patient care by offering more affordable and accessible specialty care services. This includes medications for complex conditions such as cancer, hepatitis C, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, mental health, addiction recovery, human growth hormone deficiencies and hemophilia. Albertsons operates 19 banners across 35 states. (Progressive Grocer)
