Ahold announces closure of two distribution centers

Ahold USA announced it will close two distribution centers in New York, resulting in the loss of 600 jobs. The warehouse operations will now be handled by C&S Wholesale Grocers. The Amercian Sales Company warehouses currently in use provide products to more than 700 supermarkets across the United States. Ahold says the facilities are no longer located in the markets that serve Ahold's retail division. Story
