A&P still needs to sell 72 stores

One round of the auction is complete and A&P has sold to bidders about three dozen stores, while 72 remain unsold after two days of auctions. Analysts are not surprised, as many of stores being auctioned were sites potential buyers passed up previously when A&P first filed for bankruptcy in 2010. Or, those remaining were in poor shape, needing much renovation. A&P stores across the Northeast have been for sale since the iconic brand filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July. Story
