70% of consumers log in to retail sites using Facebook credentials

In a recent study by Gigya, 7 out of 10 consumers using an established login to enter a retail site use their Facebook credentials. The social network's share of the logins fell two percentage points from the first quarter, while the use of Amazon and PayPal's login shares were up 3 and 2 percentage points, respectively. Gigya found that 66 percent of users use their social network credentials "always" or "often" when presented the option, which is double the percentage of shoppers who said the same thing in 2012.
