600M consumers to visit shopping centers before Christmas

With the shopping season well underway, consumers will visit a shopping center an average of 6.5 times per week and spend an average of $147 per week from now until Christmas. According to the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), this means $4.3 billion a day in sales, or $30 billion per week.

So while mobile technology has taken a big step this holiday season, physical stores still have a big place in retail, with 83 percent of U.S. consumers visiting a shopping center at least once a week. Even amongst tech-savvy millennials, the numbers are higher, with 92 percent visiting a mall once a week. Story
