Forever 21 opens first beauty concept store

Forever 21 is testing out the beauty market with its first Riley Rose store, which opened in the Los Angeles area last week. The brand will begin with 13 stores as Forever21 hopes to make back in the popular beauty market what it is losing in the apparel industry. (CNBC)

Toys R Us has big plans in India

Although facing financial troubles in the U.S., Toys R Us recently opened its first store in India and plans to add 65 more locations over the next decade. The retailer made a $50 million investment in India at the same time it closed on $3.1 billion worth of financing facilities to support the company's operations while it restructures. (Quartz)

Ikea sales up 5%

Ikea reported that sales were up 5% in the latest fiscal year, not quite as high as the 8% rise in the previous year. In the upcoming year, the international retailer plans to open 22 new stores, with new formats in new markets such as Southeast Asia and South America. (Reuters)

Ross Stores opens 40 new shops

Ross Stores announced the recent openings of 30 new Dress for Less and 10 dd's Discounts locations in September and October. These new locations, across 22 states, complete the retailer's growth plans for fiscal 2017. (PR Newswire)
