Editor's Corner: Digital innovation steps into the spotlight

Without a doubt, some of the most read stories on FierceRetail are about technology. From mobile initiatives and digital sales growth to in-store enhancements and fulfillment solutions – digital is the most important and most exciting part of retailing today.

Attendees at the National Retail Federation's Digital Summit next week in Dallas will have plenty of content to partake in between the association's event and the Retail Innovation Lounge set up at the nearby Dallas Entrepreneur Center.

The two programs should complement each other, offering retailers and other attendees plenty of opportunity to interact with new technology and hear from leaders in the industry about what's working, what's not and what's coming up next.

The Digital Summit is a renamed and updated Shop.org. But there's more to see than what's at the  Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The Retail Innovation Lounge is a program from Kwolia that dives deep into the new and emerging technology making inroads in retail.

“We launched the Retail Innovation Lounge event series this year during SXSW in Austin and we are excited to come to Dallas with a bigger lineup of speakers and sponsors," according to Anne Marie Stephen, CEO and founder, Kwolia.

FierceRetail will be at both conferences attending sessions, scouring the Expo floor for new solutions, and talking to retail attendees about their interests, programs and concerns.

We are also pleased to participate in the program, and on Monday will be sitting down for an onstage chat about immersive innovation at retail with Sally Beauty President Sandy Carter.
